The world seems to be growing more unstable under the global economic crisis, ongoing ethnic conflicts and environmental disasters and irrational human use of natural resources. In addition to the negative impact of natural disasters on the environment, a destructive power has been arisen from the anthropogenic and technogenic phenomena, which jeopardize the safe development of future generations. Therefore a priority of the modern society is to find the ways for optimal solving of current natural and anthropogenic problems and achieve a long-term sustainable development.

Industrial espionage and competition issues in the modern world are becoming more ambitious shapes, thereby affecting all spheres of human activity. Create all things, ideas and services subject to fierce competition, as far as the relationship of competition and economic policies can affect international relations. Competition – inherent in commodity production struggle between entrepreneurs in the market for more favorable conditions of production and marketing of products for getting the highest profit. Research competitiveness of goods and services – one of the main links of research in the market economy, which allows to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the products and services offered. In this regard, relevant today is the creation of a coherent system of economic intelligence on the markets, competitors, partners, contractors, new technologies, legislation, etc., and in addition – the knowledge used in the business of ways to search, access, use of information and also used type of deception and fraud. The fierce competition for markets and products, the scope of application of capital and the pursuit of maximum profits forced executives of major corporations to closely monitor the activities of their competitors. It may be used as economic intelligence and industrial espionage.

In the XXI century, questions of environmental problems in Central Asia go beyond the region, defying the international community. It is known, environmental issues that were raised repeatedly on the agenda of international tribunes and scale concepts of environmental security requires clear actions and decisions in some areas of international politics. During the Soviet period lands of Central Asia used for production. These and other policies were hold incorrectly, aiming only to get economic benefits. The results were destructive for the development of CA. The region and its inhabitants had to pay for its costs: environmental degradation; water shortages and pollution, health problems. Nowadays these problems are still actual and need solutions. Therefore leaders of CA countries looking ways of cooperation in order to provide environmental security.

This study assesses the security interests and concerns for each of the Central States in response to the progressive withdrawal of U.S. and NATO troops through 2014, as well as their associated political wills and capacities to implement them individually or collectively. As it evolves throughout its security, political, and economic transitions, the stability of the region is also directly affected by the success or failure of their initiatives. The Central Asian countries and other northern neighbors are concerned that Afghanistan’s security forces will not be ready to carry the responsibility of autonomously maintaining stability in the country, in order to foster the political and economic developments required to protect and implement their bi-lateral or multi-lateral initiatives for Afghanistan’s future.

In this article one of the discriminating phenomena of Israeli defense policy – targeted killings, as a means of Israeli intelligence to combat terrorism and protect national security are considered. The author gives the examples of using this measure in the history of the State of Israel, in particular, during the endless Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and shows the consequences to which these bloody actions have led. Moreover, advantages and disadvantages of using such method in the fight against terrorism have been analyzed from the moral and legal points of view. Furthermore, the effectiveness of this policy and its "conformity" with the Jewish law has been analyzed. In conclusion, the author proves the justification of using the “targeted killings” as last measures to ensure the security and to protect the state and the people.

The following article analyzes the events in Crimea. In a first part the factual background will be explained. Then, the question shall be answered if the declaration of independence and the Russian participation in the developments violated international law with regard to the principles of territorial integrity, self-determination and the prohibition of intervention is closely scrutinzed taking into consideration also possible justifications of the Russian conduct, i.e. Through invitation, protection of own nationals and humanitarian intervention. The article comes to the conclusion that the secession of Crimea cannot be based on international law and that the Russian intervention is a violation of international law.

In this article, features of national security strategy of the Republic of Kazakhstan are considered from the various legal aspects. In addition, the article reveals methods of solving the basic problems of national security. Considering and analyzing the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in relation to various aspects of national security, author offers his point of view. Author discloses substantial aspects of information counteraction to external factors, which involves the implementation of a set of specific measures to prevent and neutralize security threats.

Security in the region is one of the most important issues in International studies because it had many ups and downs during last decades. Although International Society leading U.S. sent troops to Afghanistan in order to fight against international terrorism, but still security challenges are remained the same. However, currently there are more concentrating on roots of terrorism in Pakistan, but they are going to withdraw troops from Afghanistan after 2014. Some countries were pessimistic on presence of U.S. because they think U.S. has interests in Asia, controlling China, Russia and Iran. But others are worrying about future of region; especially that extremism is being extended to the east part of China, Central Asia, and even to the south borders of Russia. Strategic agreement between Afghanistan and U.S. may have both negative and positive effects and impacts on security in the region.

In the law of EU in external actions there are some special features and exceptions which are found only after comparing the provisions of TEU and TFEU, and analyzing the practice of exercising EU its competences.

The military­political aspect of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the U.S. is one of the important fields of interaction between the states. During the first years of independence the interests of the U.S. were around the Soviet nuclear weapons located on the Kazakhstani territory. Cooperation in the military­ political field develops also on the structural level through NATO. After the events of September 11 the US proclaimed a war against terrorism. The struggle against terrorism became one of the major challenges of the US foreign policy. Therefore due to its geopolitical and strategic location the role of Kazakhstan increased. In this article will be made an attempt to trace the dynamics of Kazakhstani­U.S. relations in the military­political direction.
